D+I have won a Silver Award for the Dynamic Controls DX2-REM550 Power Wheelchair Remote in the in the Consumer category at the recent Best Design Awards held in Auckland.

Dynamic Controls is the world's leader in electric powered wheelchair control systems. The DX2-REM550 (DX2-Remote) is the user interface of the company’s new DX2 wheelchair control system, used in demanding rehabilitation applications.

The DX2-Remote provides excellent wheelchair drive control and high-power capability through the DX2-Power-Module, and allows versatile proportional actuator control for fine adjustment of the user’s seating in conjunction with the DX2-Actuator-Module.

Users' access to their environment is essential, which is why the DX2-Remote extends control beyond the wheelchair – Dynamic Controls’ communication modules allow operation of a computer mouse via the DX2-Remote’s joystick, and create interfaces to televisions, DVD players/recorders and home automation systems.

Featuring ergonomic designs of button locations and hand rest areas, as well as the largest colour LCD display on the market, the DX2-Remote is easily operated by a wide variety of users. The icon-based screen makes it simple to understand and use, and independent of language.

For over three decades the name Dynamic has been synonymous with innovation and technical leadership in the challenging field of controllers for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Now with their award winning solution this is set to continue for years to come.
